Within Drop, you have the option to send either a Flow or a Push. Understanding the key differences between these two options is essential for effective campaign management.
Flows are built upon a trigger or user action. They are designed for automated messaging and can be used for recruitment purposes, engagement-based messaging, and evergreen automations. Here’s how flows work and how to set them up:
How Flows Work
Flows work based on the triggers selected during creation. They can be triggered by the following criteria:
Story & Post: Target Users That Have Replied to Your Content
Posts/Stories: Link flows directly to in-feed and story content to capture and target users who have commented on a given post or replied to a specific story.
Story Mentions: Target users who have mentioned you in their stories.
Messages: Reply to Users Based on What They've DM'd You
Keywords: Set specific keywords that will trigger the flow. For example, for a giveaway, you might trigger based on a user DMing you a 🔥 emoji. Multiple keywords can be used, and you can choose whether the user response must exactly match the keyword, simply contain the keyword, or if their message starts/ends with the keyword.
DM Categorization: Trigger messaging based on user emotion, intent, tone of voice, etc.
Audience Enrollment Triggers: Trigger Messaging When Users Become Part of a Particular Audience
Audience Selection: First, create the audience within the Audience tab. When building the flow, select the desired audience. The flow will trigger when users become part of the audience automatically. For example, auto-enrollment when eligible users engage with your content or nurture flows that trigger a set number of days following opt-in.
Activating Your Flow
Once you determine your flow trigger, you will then proceed to build your messaging flow. (Link: Presentation of the Builder: Overview of the Flow Builder Tool.)
Once the flow trigger and messaging are both ready, it's time to schedule or activate your flow! Simply click "Publish this Flow," where you have the option to "Publish Now" or "Schedule for Later."
