What is a keyword?

Keywords are words that define what your campaign and content are about. In terms of Drop, they're the words and phrases that you choose to add to trigger your flow.

When choosing a keyword, you should always have in mind which word would be more suitable for your campaign. It is also good practice to choose words that are not in the day-to-day vocabulary of your followers when they send you a message. If you choose terms like “hi” or “I need help," a follower may trigger the flow and receive messages that they didn’t ask for.

So when you click on “creating a flow," you'll be redirected inside the flow builder, where you can start building your flow by first adding keywords. You can add as many keywords as you wish. It should look like this: 👇

P.S. You shouldn’t add keywords that you have already added in another live campaign. You won’t be able to publish it.

When you are setting your keywords, inside the Starting Step of your flow, you can choose how the system will identify that keyword.

Let’s say you chose ‘Early Access’ as a keyword. The options are:

  • If the message is exactly Early Access

  • If the message contains Early Access

  • If the message starts with Early Access

  • If the message ends with Early Access

By setting ‘If the message is exactly ‘Early Access’, you can avoid accidentally sending your flow to someone who simply messaged you, “How early can I get my order?” and is not necessarily trying to engage with your campaign, which would only result in annoying your customers.
